Knights of the Round Bottoms:
I remember when I started blogging about weight loss. One of the first blogs I found was Twice The Man and the Knights of the Round Bottoms. TTM was a really nice guy. Unfortunately, he deleted his blog. Hopefully he is doing very well where ever he is at. I have occasionally visited some of the other blogs from the Knights of the Round Bottoms. The last two inductees, Captain Jeff and Half-Man are the most successful members! They both provide a lot of the encouragement and positive attitude that was the forte of TTM. Thanks for all the support and encouragement!
Out of the 21 members that I found listed, 11 lost at least one pound. Eight lost more than ten pounds. Three lost one hundred pounds or more. Four of the Knights/Ladies gained weight, and six deleted their blogs. Of the 21 Knights, only six have blogged in the past three months. Four of those six are the top four weight losers. Is it mere coincidence, or does blogging help people lose weight?

Ever so often I think of Twice the Man, Graham. He was my first on-line friend. He was so incredibly on track for such a long time that he was somewhat of a roll model for him. I miss him and am glad you included him in your update.
As for seeing that I've gained 9 lbs. in bold faced red . . . errrrrrrrrrg. That reality if tough to face. It would have been even worse if I'd given up. The 9 could have easily been 90 if I hadn't kept up the struggle.
And now for an hour on the elliptical
Lady Atkins started at 206 and she is now at 134 lbs., so you should think about getting some tips from her. It can't hurt!
I do think blogging helps tons. Even though most of the blogs I check are half way around the world, it still lends a sense of accountablity (at least to me), as well as maybe the ability for a self-check. If I write it down, I have to own what I ate for the day and I get to celebrate having made it to the gym or acknowledge that I should have gone.

I have the utmost respect for those who can lose a significant amount of weight AND keep it off. Let's hear it for Gerald, the Subway guy.
I do have a cousin who at one time tipped the scales at 300 pounds, but lost the weight and has kept it off now for something like 30 years. You have to admire their strength of character.
We've had a string of co-workers here who have undergone gastric bypasses. And even THAT doesn't always stop them from regaining the weight.
You fat slobs are all failures. I climbed the mountain and blazed the trail nearly two years ago when I lost 110 lbs. Since that time I have turned my podcasting hobby into a full-time career as the Minnesota Twins number one fan.
Where were all the Knights of the Brown Bottoms when I needed their help? They were busy congratulating each other and pretending to make progress. As you can see, most of them failed to lose ten pounds. Most of them are big fat failures.
Only Normalman has succeeded. Normalman is number one. I have been a guest reporter on ESPN's Baseball Tonight and I am working on getting a gig as a permanent Twins reporter. My life gets better every day because I lost weight and succeeded.
I am a "johnny come lately" so I don't know anything about the Knights or Ladies. Thanks for this update.
I think community helps people lose weight and that is what blogging creates a community of people who share the same goal.
Your blog more than any other that I have read really fosters that sense of community among us and provides a few laughs to keep our sense of humour alive as we travel along a road that is very hard sometimes.
