Weekly Weight Loss Winner

Obese Man Denied Adoption: A Missouri man claims he's being discriminated against due to his weight. Gary Stocklaufer said he and his wife, Cynthia, were asked to adopt Gary's cousin's 3-month-old son because the relative couldn't care for the boy anymore. But a judge denied the adoption on the grounds of Gary's weight, Stocklaufer said. Stocklaufer said he weighs roughly 500 pounds. He says that his weight hasn't stopped him from working as a truck driver or playing with his 7 year old son. The couple said their attorney has filed a motion for a new hearing. Stocklaufer is on a diet and he's lost 35 lbs. and is working to lose more weight.

Weekly Calorie Count: This week's calorie count was: Saturday 7/28: 2470 calories; Sunday 7/29: 2009 calories, Monday 7/30: 2400 calories; Tuesday 7/31: 2190 calories; Wednesday 8/1: 2290; Thursday 8/2: 2595 calories; Friday 8/3: 3087 calories. Most of the week I did OK. I never really made any sacrifices. Friday I got paid and bought the Arby's chicken snackers and put lots of Buffalo sauce on them. This was before I even got home... Then I ate dinner. Not a good night for dieting... However, I lost 2.4 pounds this week. I went to the gym faithfully and worked out with weights and did cardio. Which reminds me that there is someone who lost 3 pounds this week!

Weekly Weight Loss Winner! This week there is a new champion! Several of the bloggers lost around a pound or more, but there were two persons who were head and shoulders above everyone else! A newcomer has dethroned Captain Jeff! I thought that this week's winner was JFarrley who lost three pounds this week. He is now at 193. Farrley started at 236 and has been on a mission to lose fifty pounds in fifty weeks. Congratutions Mr. Farrley! You are a great example for all of us, especially the folks that are closing in on 200! However, after checking KL's blog, I found that KL had lost 3.6 pounds (around 1.5 kilos). KL is this week's weight loss champion! Talk about being a dark horse champion, KL had been stalled in her weight loss for a while. However she renewed her energy and determination and cracked the weight loss nut this week for the first time in a while! KL was weighing around 290 lbs. when she started blogging, and now she is down to 236 lbs. She has almost lost 60 pounds. Read her amazing story at her blog. While I am on the topic of correcting past errors, I have to bring up Angelfish, who a few weeks ago posted a 3.5 pound weight loss. Chris H had posted a 3.52 pound weight loss, and so I did not acknowledge Angelfish as a co-champion... Not that it really matters in the real world; but then again, I hate not giving everyone their hard-earned recognition. What really matters is losing weight. The rest is just fun and silliness. So now that I have righted the ship and set everything right, I will probably look back and find that on some other week I missed someone? Should I worry about it? The results may not always be accurate, but the good intentions are there. Feel free to post a comment here whenever you have lost weight, so that I can make a note to check your blog. I try to check them all, but sometimes I miss an entry, and that is where the weight loss was posted...!! Congratulations to everyone that has lost weight this week! Whether it is an ounce or a pound, if you are losing weight you are going in the right direction!!!

Sorry that you have such high hopes for Miami (even after the lost Nick Saban and Bama gained a hell of a guy)...But my SAINTS have a much better chance that you think....

You are allowed to dream though!

I'd believe just about any hurdle thrown in the path of someone wanting to adopt from an agency, but since when did government get all pissy about adoptions within families, where everyone knows each other and is in agreement?

That's just stupid.

Well done on your 2.4lb loss this week.

good going on the 2.4 pound loss!

wow that's strict on the adoption issue, obesity is the last frontier for discrimination. That's just wrong!! I mean they are family.

Pretty tough on re the adoption when the guy is working and has a 7 year old.

Well done on the loss this week Al,counting the calories is obviously working for you.

Congrats to J Farrley as well.

Congrats to you spider on your loss this week! That's a good loss. The calorie counting does work with all the working out too.
Way to go for JFarrley too! That's a big loss. I wish I could have some big losses but they always say women lose slower than men. I guess that's true from when I was at ww and saw the rate of speed one guy was losing.
I weigh in on Wednesdays so check back then. Even though I'm closer to 200 it will take me a while at my slow rate of loss lately but I'll get there, no question about that. I'm determined, huh?

Thanks for the mention, spider. I prob. won't ever get a loss that big again. It's slow and steady these days.
Hope you are doing well this week. Say no to Arby's! ha. If I have to pick a fast food place I have been choosing Wendy's for salads or subway. But, I still got watch the add ons and dressings.
